Snowflake and Amazon sign major deal for artificial intelligence

Snowflake, one of the world leaders in the field of cloud data storage technologies, has signed a new five-year partnership agreement with Amazon Web Services. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This massive deal, valued at $6 billion, is primarily aimed at improving and expanding artificial intelligence infrastructure. It is worth noting that while Snowflake has provided a total of $7 billion in services since it began operations in 2012, industry experts are highlighting that this single new agreement is nearly equal to that entire amount.
According to information provided by company representatives, customer spending on this platform is growing at a rapid pace. Specifically, this figure is projected to reach $2 billion in 2025.
The increasing demand for modern artificial intelligence technologies is cited as the main factor behind such high growth. Through its specialized intelligent tools, Snowflake is providing enterprises with the ability to communicate with databases in plain human language, summarize complex reports in a concise format, and utilize many other smart functions.
The strategic significance of this agreement lies in the fact that Snowflake will now further expand its use of Graviton processors, which are developed by Amazon and based on a specialized architecture. As artificial intelligence models move beyond the training stage and enter the phase of daily practical application and autonomous digital agents, the need for central processing power is increasing to an unprecedented level.
Although the main computing processes are handled by graphics chips, modern processors like Graviton serve as the most efficient solution for the stable and cost-effective operation of AI systems. Amazon's leadership has consistently emphasized that their chips are significantly superior to competitors' products in terms of price and efficiency.
Cheaper yet high-performance chips are attracting large technology corporations. For example, Meta recently signed a contract to purchase millions of such chips for its artificial intelligence needs.
Currently, all major cloud service providers, including Google and Microsoft, are also actively working on developing their own proprietary chips. This indicates the formation of a new competitive environment in the global market.
