Groq startup raises 650 million dollars in investment for new projects

Groq, a startup that produces specialized chips for artificial intelligence technologies, plans to attract significant investment to expand its operations. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information distributed by Axios, the company aims to raise $650 million from its existing investors. This massive investment will be spent on developing a new direction called the inference cloud, based on the company's proprietary chips and systems.
Techcrunch is also reporting this, relying on its own sources. At the end of last year, an important agreement was signed between Groq and NVIDIA, one of the world's largest chip manufacturers.
Under this agreement, NVIDIA acquired the right to use a number of the startup's technical developments. Additionally, several experienced specialists from Groq decided to continue their careers at this large corporation.
The total value of the agreement was approximately $20 billion; while this process does not mean the complete sale of the company, it brought significant returns for the investors. Currently, investors are being asked to support new plans aimed at further increasing the company's cloud service capabilities.
This platform provides software developers and large enterprises with the ability to efficiently deploy complex artificial intelligence systems. Today, in the field of artificial intelligence, the need for the process of providing fast responses to ready-made queries—that is, inference—is increasing sharply compared to the model training stage.
The implementation of this new strategy is being led by interim CEO Adam Winter and CFO Matt Eng. According to the information received, the issue of the $650 million financial assistance is nearly resolved.
If other investors do not wish to participate in this process, large funds such as Disruptive and Infinitium have expressed their readiness to cover all costs in full. This indicates high confidence in the future plans of the Groq startup.
