A new keyboard based on artificial intelligence has been created in Singapore

The usual text typing process for smartphone users is expected to change completely in the near future. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Singapore-based startup Acti has introduced a new generation of keyboards designed for iOS and Android operating systems. This is not just a simple app that predicts words, but an intelligent assistant capable of performing various actions on behalf of the user.
According to TechCrunch, this technology integrates artificial intelligence capabilities directly into messaging apps, email, and social networks. Yang Wang, founder and head of Acti, noted that currently, people are constantly forced to switch from one app to another to use AI services.
For example, to find certain information, a conversation is paused to consult an internet browser or specialized bots. Acti, however, works as a single layer over all apps and assists the user while maintaining the context of the communication.
This makes digital communication easier and more convenient. The new keyboard understands the user's intent and converts it into a specific action.
For instance, if you are texting a friend about having lunch, the system can recommend nearby restaurants directly within the chat. If a conversation mentions a company's stocks, the ability to share real-time prices immediately becomes available via the keyboard.
Such an approach saves the user's time and significantly increases work efficiency. The system's technical foundation is powered by Google's Gemini models.
Yang Wang explained that these models were chosen for their speed, accuracy in multilingual environments, and reliability. Using this technology, a function called "special skills" has been implemented in the keyboard.
With the press of a single button, users can automate complex tasks, such as translating a message into another language or creating a meeting link. It is natural that many users are concerned about personal data falling into the wrong hands via the keyboard.
The Acti team paid special attention to this issue, stating that the app is built on the principle of processing data on the device itself. This means that the content of the user's private communications is stored primarily on the phone.
The company strictly guarantees that it will not send private messages or conversations to external servers without the user's permission. Project leader Yang Wang is considered an expert with extensive experience in the keyboard industry.
He worked at Baidu for ten years, growing the number of Facemoji keyboard users to 300 million people daily. In his view, in the era of modern language models, text is no longer just a collection of letters, but a tool for achieving the user's goal.
Acti has set the goal of becoming the primary digital assistant that realizes this intent. Currently, this development is bringing artificial intelligence capabilities closer to daily life.
