Xiaomi has stopped updating a range of smartphones and tablets

Xiaomi, one of China's leading technology companies, has officially ended software support for a number of its popular smartphones and tablets. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The manufacturer is updating the list of devices whose service period has expired. This means that the lifecycle of these gadgets has come to an end and they will no longer receive new features.
This decision is being widely covered by prestigious publications in the tech world. Devices whose service period has ended will no longer receive new versions of the Android operating system, nor updates for the company's own HyperOS system.
This situation indicates that the era of system-level changes and modern functions has ended for these users. Most importantly, the gadgets included in this list will also not receive necessary security patches.
Over time, this may leave the devices vulnerable to various cyberattacks. Although the smartphones will continue to operate as usual, software bugs or security vulnerabilities identified in the future will not be officially fixed by the manufacturer.
Among the models that have lost support are not only old versions but also devices that became the most sought-after products on the market a few years ago. Specifically, flagship representatives such as the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X, the highly popular Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro models in the mid-range segment, as well as some types of the Redmi 10 and Redmi Note 11 series and Xiaomi Pad 5 tablets will no longer be updated.
Considering that the Redmi and Poco brands hold a very large share of the Uzbekistan smartphone market, this news is extremely relevant for local users. Many of our compatriots are still actively using these devices.
Experts recommend switching to newer models in such a situation to ensure the security of personal data and to enjoy modern technologies. It is worth noting separately that the cessation of software updates does not mean the smartphone has become technically unusable.
The devices will continue to run all daily applications, but the ability to implement system-level conveniences and new technologies will be limited. Xiaomi typically updates its products for two to four years depending on the model level.
The company's decision is explained by the desire to direct resources toward new generation devices and the further development of the HyperOS system. If your device is on this list, it would be advisable to consider purchasing a new gadget in the near future.
