Norm startup raised $120 million in funding

Norm, a startup aiming to transform the legal services industry, has successfully raised $120 million in its latest funding round, according to Zamin.uz.
Following this financing round led by Khosla Ventures, the company—founded just three years ago—has reached a total valuation of $1.2 billion, officially placing it in the unicorn club and among influential firms valued at over $1 billion.
The development has been reported by international tech media. Unlike traditional legal firms, Norm relies on its own autonomous AI-powered systems.
The platform, named Norm Law, delivers comprehensive legal services to corporate clients. Its distinctive feature is that all technical processes and analyses are performed by artificial intelligence, while the final outputs undergo strict review by experienced lawyers and attorneys.
This approach enhances service quality while reducing the likelihood of errors. The company has completely moved away from the traditional hourly billing model, one of the most complex aspects of legal practice.
Instead, Norm has implemented a results-based fee structure, charging clients only for successful outcomes. This innovative model enables large corporations to significantly reduce legal expenses and accelerate workflows.
According to reports, the company is also developing specialized algorithms capable of monitoring and auditing the performance of other AI systems in the legal tech space, where competition is intensifying.
In recent years, several new initiatives have emerged focused on applying artificial intelligence to the legal field. Norm aims to stand out in this market through its proprietary algorithms and strong backing from influential investors.
The participation of globally recognized financial institutions such as Bain, Craft Ventures, Coatue, Vanguard, and New York Life in the latest investment round signals strong confidence in the company’s future. Additionally, former executives from major international corporations and industry experts have also contributed capital.
This reflects a broader shift in the legal world, as it moves away from traditional and conservative approaches and begins placing greater trust in advanced technologies.
Norm plans to use the newly raised funds to further improve its product and hire more skilled attorneys to expand its team.
To date, the company has successfully raised over $260 million in total funding. Such technological advancements are expected to eventually transform the corporate legal and documentation practices in emerging markets like Uzbekistan as well.
