Sales of wireless network equipment in the world market will decline significantly

In recent years, sales of consumer-oriented wireless networking equipment on the global market have declined significantly, according to Zamin.uz.
According to analytical data, router shipments in the first quarter of this year decreased by six percent compared to the same period last year. This situation is being viewed as the next stage of a slowdown that has persisted in the technology market for several years.
As specialists emphasize, the peak in sales of these devices occurred during the height of the pandemic, when demand for home internet surged due to remote work and the shift to online education systems.
However, compared to the record figures of that period, current sales volume has dropped to approximately thirty-four percent. Despite the overall decline in the market, some companies continue to maintain their positions.
In particular, TP-Link holds a leading position in the global market with a twenty percent share. It is followed by China’s Xiaomi brand, which accounts for twelve percent.
Additionally, major technology corporations such as Netgear, Google, and Asus occupy strong positions in the top five. Notably, while the overall market is shrinking, Asus managed to increase its sales volume by nearly four percent over the year.
This is attributed to the brand’s focus on gaming devices and high-end routers.
In the Uzbekistani market, nearly all of these brands are widely available.
Analysts note growth in certain market segments. Specifically, demand for multi-point network systems is rising.
Such systems enable expanded internet coverage in large homes. Today, as the number of smart devices in households increases, consumers are increasingly favoring solutions that provide stable connectivity throughout the entire home.
Furthermore, with the development of the gaming industry, sales of devices specifically designed for gamers—featuring high speed and minimal latency—continue to grow. Although such equipment is expensive for average users, it is gaining popularity among professional gamers.
In summary, the wireless networking equipment market has moved past the exceptional growth phase seen during the pandemic. Nowadays, manufacturers are focusing less on quantity and more on quality and new technologies—including the latest communication standards and enhanced network systems—to maintain their revenues.
This suggests that in the future, simple routers will be increasingly replaced by more complex and intelligent network systems.
