Google has announced that it will compensate owners of Pixel 6a smartphones for battery malfunctions. This was reported by Rozetked.me.
This issue mainly includes excessive battery overheating, swelling, spontaneous shutdowns, and other similar conditions. The compensation program is intended for US users and is being implemented as part of dispute resolution.
The maximum payment amount is $150, while the minimum amount is $25. The payment amount depends on the severity of the malfunction and the documents provided.
To apply, the smartphone itself is not required; only a document confirming ownership of the device is needed — for example, a receipt, serial number, or purchase order. Applications could be submitted through a special page until June 28, 2025.
Compensation funds will be transferred directly to users after the data is verified. This claim covers not only the Pixel 6a model but also other devices in the Pixel family, although battery-related issues have been more frequently identified in the 6a models.
Google does not admit fault but has agreed to pay compensation without legal proceedings. This step serves to resolve disputes peacefully between the company and users.
