A unique reconstructive surgical operation was successfully carried out at the National Medical Center. During the operation performed by the center's qualified orthopedic surgeons, the left fibula was transplanted along with blood vessels to fill the defect in the left elbow bone. This operation is significant as it is being performed for the first time in Uzbekistan.
The patient is a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the following surgical procedures were performed by specialists:
Transplantation of the fibula: The fibula was carefully removed along with blood vessels, preserving its viability.
Attachment to the elbow bone: The fibula was placed in the area of the elbow bone defect and osteosynthesis was performed using plates and screws.
Restoration of blood circulation: An anastomosis was established to the elbow artery using microsurgical techniques, restoring blood circulation.
Restoration of tendons and muscles: Tenodesis of the flexor tendons was performed to restore the normal function of the patient's elbow.
This type of unique operation was successfully completed due to the high level of medical technologies and the experience of the surgeons at the National Medical Center. After the operation, the patient's health stabilized, and the rehabilitation process began. This success indicates the development of high-tech surgery in Uzbekistan.
