
At the next major event held in Samarkand, more than 7 tons of pilaf was cooked in a specially prepared giant cauldron. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This event attracted not only guests from Uzbekistan but also from all over the world as a source of pride for our national dish. The giant pilaf was prepared in a cauldron that was 4.5 meters long and 2 meters high.
A total of 1700 kilograms of rice, 1900 kilograms of yellow carrots, 480 kilograms of red carrots, as well as 830 kilograms of lamb and beef, 130 kilograms of tail, 350 liters of vegetable oil, 200 kilograms of onions, 100 kilograms of chickpeas, 170 kilograms of raisins, as well as cumin, pepper, black cumin, salt, and 450 liters of water were used for the pilaf. A total of 55 chefs participated in the preparation, 50 of whom were local and 5 were foreign specialists.
The chefs worked together for five hours, showcasing all the delicious aspects of the pilaf. Once the pilaf was cooked, it was served to the guests by 10 skilled chefs over a period of 2.5 hours.
Such events not only promote our national dishes widely but also contribute significantly to the development of our tourism and gastronomic heritage. Samarkand is becoming known worldwide not only for its historical monuments but also in the gastronomic field.
