A 60-year-old British tourist hiking in the Italian Alps was caught under a rockfall and required the assistance of rescue services. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident was reported by the Pravilamag publication. The tourist chose to walk on a dangerous mountain path, despite the presence of warning signs in English and Italian in the area.
After the rockfall began, he was unable to muster the courage to return to safety on his own and contacted the rescue service. In poor weather conditions, rescuers operated with two special helicopters, and the helicopters were active in the air for about an hour and a half.
After the successful completion of the rescue operation, the tourist was presented with a total bill of 14,225 euros. Of that, more than 11,000 euros was specifically charged for the rescue services provided by helicopter.
This case once again highlighted the importance of adhering to safety rules in the mountains. It is essential to pay close attention to warning signs and instructions during travels.
Due to the potential high costs of rescue services, it is crucial to prioritize safety.
