Important steps are being taken in Uzbekistan to further improve the forensic system and develop the sector based on modern technologies. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The decree adopted by the President “On measures to further improve forensic activities and widely introduce modern technologies in the sector” has created a legal basis for fundamental reforms in the field of forensic expertise. This document clearly defines the main goals and tasks of forensic activities.
In particular, it is envisaged to digitize forensic processes and ensure the speed, impartiality, and reliability of investigations through extensive use of artificial intelligence capabilities. This is of great importance in protecting the rights and interests of citizens.
According to the decree, a fully electronic cooperation system will be established between forensic organizations and bodies appointing expertise. Through this, the circulation of electronic documents in the sector is planned to reach 100 percent.
From now on, the “E-forensics” information system, which ensures the exchange of electronic documents with courts, investigation and inquiry bodies, as well as structures authorized to consider administrative cases, will be gradually implemented in forensic organizations. With the help of this platform, document management will be made transparent and efficient.
As a result, paperwork will be eliminated, and excessive time and costs will be reduced. In addition, the possibility to monitor each case process online will be created.
The “E-forensics” platform will be launched from January 1, 2026, in expert bodies at the republican level; from June 1 in the Karakalpakstan Republic, all regions, and the city of Tashkent; and from September 1 in expert organizations at the district and city levels (Source: zamin.uz).
