
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev highly praised the relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, calling them a “strong alliance based on brotherhood.” This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In an interview with UzA, he emphasized that the two countries have been connected by a thousand-year history, common spirit, and national closeness. According to the president, the mutual similarity in language, customs, cultural heritage, and social values are the main factors uniting the two peoples.
Furthermore, their constant respect for each other serves as proof of the strength of these relations. Aliyev noted with satisfaction that these relations have now reached the level of an alliance.
He specifically highlighted Uzbekistan’s consistent support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. This political support once again confirms the strength of trust between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani president also acknowledged Uzbekistan’s active participation in the restoration of Karabakh. He pointed out that the Mirzo Ulugbek school, built by Uzbekistan in the city of Fuzuli and currently serving 600 children, is a vivid example of this friendship.
It was noted that Uzbekistan was the first country to initiate assistance in the restoration of Karabakh, which is deeply respected by the Azerbaijani people. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the spirit of brotherhood between the two peoples will be further strengthened in the future, creating broad opportunities for new joint projects and strategic cooperation.
