Uzbekistan has confirmed its readiness to start work on joining the Eurasian Economic Union's single transit system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced on November 13 during a meeting between Ruslan Davydov, Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Union, and Akmalxoja Mavlonov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan. Joining the single transit system will simplify customs procedures and facilitate faster delivery of cargo.
This initiative will not only ease transit processes but also help increase transparency in foreign trade and strengthen control. During the meeting, issues related to the exchange of customs information about goods and vehicles were also discussed.
During the meeting, Ruslan Davydov closely acquainted himself with the activities of the target center and the electronic declaration center in Uzbekistan. He emphasized the importance of introducing artificial intelligence into control processes and the system for evaluating inspectors' work.
Additionally, the possibilities of using electronic navigation seals within the EAEU framework were considered. In particular, prospects for applying this technology on the Tashkent–Saint Petersburg route were discussed.
This cooperation is expected to contribute to the modernization of foreign trade processes and the improvement of the international transport system. Source: zamin.uz.
