
On December 19 at 10:39, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6 was recorded in the Takhar province of Afghanistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The epicenter of this earthquake was located approximately 551 kilometers southeast of Tashkent. According to the Uzbekistan Seismological Monitoring Center, the earthquake was felt in several regions of the country.
The earthquake was strongest in Surxondaryo region, where the tremors reached 4 on the scale. In Qashqadaryo and Samarkand regions, the shaking was around 3 on the scale.
In Jizzakh, Sirdaryo, and Fergana regions, tremors ranged from 2 to 3 on the scale. In Navoi region, Tashkent city, as well as Namangan and Andijan regions, the earthquake was felt at a strength of 2.
So far, there have been no official reports of serious damage to citizens' lives or infrastructure. The relevant ministries and services are keeping the situation under control.
Experts urge the public to remain calm, follow safety rules, and take precautionary measures. The risk of aftershocks still exists, and the situation is under constant observation.
