
During his official visit to Japan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held meetings with the heads of several major companies. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The business part of the visit took place in Tokyo. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Akihiko Tanaka, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
During the dialogue, new agreements were signed with JICA on the development of economic zones, agriculture, supply of medical equipment, and support for entrepreneurship. Additionally, the issue of establishing a special economic zone for Japanese investors was discussed.
The President emphasized the necessity of timely implementation of projects within the framework of the new cooperation program with JICA until 2030. The head of our state held a meeting with Masayoshi Fujimoto and Kosuke Uemura, heads of the Sojitz Corporation.
Matters such as accelerating the construction project of a combined cycle gas turbine power plant in Sirdaryo region, building a new international airport and a wind power plant in Tashkent were discussed. Furthermore, special attention was paid to the modernization of preschool education institutions and green energy projects.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also met with the heads of JOGMEC and ITOCHU companies. Issues of implementing joint projects using advanced Japanese technologies were considered.
Agreements were reached on cooperation in developing uranium deposits in Navoi and Kashkadarya regions, mining precious metals, as well as water purification and automotive industries. The President also met with Shingo Ueno, President of Sumitomo Corporation.
Joint projects in the energy and industrial sectors were discussed, including projects for the construction of solar power plants in Samarkand. Plans for building wind power plants in Karakalpakstan were also acknowledged.
The company’s participation in the production of high-voltage cables and modernization of emergency medical vehicles was envisaged. During the meetings, the development and successful implementation of cooperation programs planned until 2030 were of great importance.
