According to the results of the GovTech Maturity Index 2025 announced by the World Bank, Uzbekistan has entered Group A, which includes countries with the highest level of development in state digital technologies. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This indicator serves to assess countries' achievements in digitizing the public sector. It is not a ranking but a system that categorizes countries into groups based on their level of digital development.
According to the data, in 2025, Group A includes 80 countries, accounting for 41 percent of the 197 countries analyzed by the World Bank. Uzbekistan's inclusion in this prestigious group is the result of consistent reforms carried out in the digitalization of public administration.
Notably, Uzbekistan is grouped with countries considered advanced in digital services such as South Korea, Japan, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This will further strengthen the country's position on the international stage.
The GovTech Maturity Index evaluates countries based on four main directions: the formation of the state's core digital systems, the quality and coverage of online public services, the level of citizens' digital participation, and the institutional and technological environment necessary for digital transformation. The World Bank report emphasizes that the digitization of the public sector is not developing at the same pace worldwide.
However, countries working based on a clear strategy and systematic approach are advancing to higher levels. Uzbekistan's inclusion in Group A demonstrates the successful implementation of a modern and effective digital model in public administration.
This lays the foundation for making public services even more convenient, transparent, and efficient in the future.
