Uzbekistan showed a positive result in the 2025 report of the internationally recognized Global Peace Index. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the updated ranking, the country ranked 67th among 163 countries worldwide. This result means an improvement of two positions compared to last year and placed Uzbekistan among the Top-70 peaceful countries.
In the Central Asia region, Uzbekistan maintains a relatively stable position. In the ranking, it took the place after Kazakhstan (56th).
At the same time, Uzbekistan surpassed Kyrgyzstan (78th), Tajikistan (79th), and Turkmenistan (87th). This indicator reflects the effectiveness of reforms being implemented in the country to ensure public safety and internal stability.
In the Global Peace Index ranking, countries are evaluated based on several important criteria. Among these criteria, the level of public safety, involvement in internal and international conflicts, and the extent of militarization hold key positions.
The report emphasizes that globally, the level of peace continues to decline, and tensions have increased in some regions. The top positions in the ranking were occupied by the usual stable and peaceful countries.
Iceland, Ireland, and New Zealand retained their leadership as the most peaceful countries in the world. At the bottom of the ranking were Russia, Ukraine, and Sudan, where military conflicts and political instability continue.
Overall, Uzbekistan's advancement in the Global Peace Index is considered an important step towards strengthening the country's international image and its position in the region. If this trend continues, higher results in the coming years are not unlikely.
