The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan has introduced a special work schedule to ensure continuous operation of medical services during the New Year holidays. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to upl.uz, from the morning of December 31 to the night of January 4, all state medical institutions in the country, including district polyclinics and republican scientific-practical centers, will continuously accept patients.
To successfully organize this process, nearly 20,000 medical workers have been mobilized. They will work in shifts continuously to prevent any interruptions in service.
Emergency medical services will also operate at full capacity. More than 2,800 mobile ambulance brigades are planned to be dispatched across the regions.
Additionally, the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care and its branches will be on a 24-hour schedule, always ready for emergencies. Special measures have been established to ensure continuity and safety in specialized medical institutions as well.
In particular, 231 maternity hospitals and 233 children's inpatient facilities will continue to operate as usual during the holidays. Obstetric and pediatric services will also be provided without interruption.
During mass events on the holidays, medical workers will cooperate with law enforcement agencies. The Ministry has urged citizens to pay attention to their health during the New Year holidays and to follow doctors' recommendations.
Traditionally, birth rates are high on the first day of the New Year. For example, on January 1, 2024, more than 1,800 babies were born in the country.
For this reason, maternity hospitals mobilize their resources to the maximum extent on the holiday night.
