Life expectancy in Uzbekistan will reach 78 years by 2030

Uzbekistan has set a goal to increase the average life expectancy of its population to 78 years by 2030. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information is noted in the "Uzbekistan–2030" strategy project, as reported by Podrobno.uz. According to the plan, this indicator will gradually increase: 75.5 years in 2026, 76 years in 2027, 76.8 years in 2028, 77.5 years in 2029, and reaching 78 years in 2030.
To achieve this goal, funding allocated to the healthcare system will be increased. In particular, by 2030, allocations from the state budget for healthcare are planned to reach up to 5 percent of the gross domestic product.
The strategy also identifies reducing premature mortality as one of the important directions. Specifically, it is planned to reduce the rate of premature death due to cardiovascular diseases among people aged 30–69 to 27 percent, and from oncological diseases to 5.2 percent.
Additionally, measures to combat chronic diseases are prioritized. For example, the goal is to provide full treatment for patients with diabetes, keep the premature mortality rate from respiratory diseases below 1.5 percent, and maintain the incidence rate of tuberculosis at no more than 33 percent.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee, average life expectancy in Uzbekistan has been steadily increasing over the past decade. For instance, this indicator was 66.4 years in 1991, 73 years in 2010, and reached 74.7 years in 2023.
Officials emphasize that the measures being implemented will not only extend life expectancy but also improve quality of life through better medical care and preventive measures.
