Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the meeting of the Euro-Asian Economic Council in Astana

Today, a major event that has been the center of attention in the world of international politics and economics—the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council—took place in Astana, in neighboring Kazakhstan, not far from our capital Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At this prestigious summit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, participated as a head of state with observer status and delivered an important speech before the leaders of the member countries of the organization. In his speech, the head of state specifically acknowledged that the consistent expansion of practical and fruitful cooperation relations with the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union remains one of the most priority and important directions in our country's foreign economic policy.
According to the President's press service, the partnership between our country and the states of this union is not merely simple relations, but has been elevated to the level of systematic and complex economic cooperation. The volume of trade turnover between the two sides is growing rapidly, industrial cooperation is entering a new stage, transport and logistics chains are being strengthened, and promising projects are being formed in the fields of digital technologies, energy, and services.
The most important initiatives and details of future plans proposed by the head of our country to strengthen regional and international economic ties were presented to the general public. It was announced that a special meeting of the Joint Working Group is scheduled for this autumn to implement a new comprehensive cooperation plan between Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Furthermore, a plan of important measures aimed at coordinating and aligning technical regulation systems in the sector was officially approved. Most pleasingly, the representative office of the Eurasian Development Bank has begun its operations in our capital, Tashkent, and a specific set of economic projects has already been successfully formed.
From the podium of the international summit, the head of state outlined five most important and priority areas that will take the partnership between the union and Uzbekistan to an entirely new stage. These proposals are of great importance not only for the states but also for the lives of ordinary entrepreneurs and citizens.
First, the issue of creating a single digital trade space was raised. This involves developing e-commerce without any barriers, establishing digital data exchange in customs, phytosanitary, and veterinary control systems, and the mutual recognition of electronic documents.
Deepening industrial cooperation was identified as the second important direction. The main goal here is to strengthen the technological partnership of business representatives and organize new production capacities.
These initiatives put forward by the head of our state will serve to ensure economic stability in the region and raise mutually beneficial relations to a new level of quality.
