A severe and extremely strong heat wave that has emerged in Iran is seriously disrupting life activities throughout the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In recent days, temperatures in some regions have risen to 50 degrees, causing significant disruptions in water and electricity supply due to this hazardous weather condition. According to local sources, on July 23, all state institutions and banks were temporarily closed in several provinces of the country.
Officials were forced to take such measures due to the abnormal heat and the water-energy crisis. Under much higher than usual temperature conditions, health-related issues, as well as disruptions in electricity supply and drinking water provision, have arisen among the population.
In various regions of Iran, it has become impossible to provide state services, and the majority of the population is being forced to stay at home. According to EtemadOnline agency, state institutions and banks have temporarily suspended their activities in the following provinces: Tehran, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Markazi, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, Ilam, and Qom.
Local officials are advising the population to act cautiously, stay at home as much as possible, and use water and electricity sparingly. It is emphasized that such heat waves may lead not only to the closure of government offices but also to schools and medical institutions.
According to officials, emergency measures will continue until this situation stabilizes, and necessary assistance will be provided to citizens. This ecological crisis in Iran is also attracting the attention of international experts and environmental activists.
