Abu Dhabi is building a $22 billion eco-city

The capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, is implementing a large-scale urban development project with a total value of approximately $11 billion, Zamin.uz reports.
Named Fahid Island, this area will become one of the world’s largest residential complexes focused on human health and a luxurious lifestyle. The project is scheduled for full completion and handover by 2029, representing a high benchmark in modern architecture and environmental harmony.
The initiative is being led by an influential construction company affiliated with the Abu Dhabi government. According to specialists, every building and infrastructure facility on the island has been designed based on principles that positively impact both physical and mental well-being.
Living here is not just about comfort—it’s about embracing a healthy way of life. Spanning a total area of 2.7 million square meters, the island will feature over 6,000 residential units of various types.
The complex will include modern apartments, luxurious villas, large shopping centers, and leisure residences. In addition, private beach clubs and opportunities for water sports will be created for residents.
Property prices will vary depending on location and type. A 10-kilometer-long green belt will be developed in the central part of Fahid Island.
Within this green zone, dedicated paths for jogging and cycling will be established. Notably, a significant portion of the internal roads will be shaded areas protected from direct sunlight.
This setup creates favorable conditions for year-round pedestrian movement and outdoor recreation in fresh air. Special attention has also been given to education: in 2028, a branch of a renowned British private school will open on the island.
This educational institution will go down in history as the first school in the world to hold an international certification for providing a healthy learning environment. It will contribute to the holistic development of the younger generation—both physically and mentally.
The Fahid Island project has been awarded the highest international rating for its high performance in promoting physical activity, proper nutrition, and mental stability. Experts consider this complex a new model for future urban development.
Such an approach serves as an important example in the creation of modern cities that prioritize human health above all.
