Women in Japan have set a new record for life expectancy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to NHK, based on data from the Ministry of Health, in 2024, the average life expectancy of women in the country reached 87.13 years. With this figure, Japan remains the world leader for the 40th time.
For men, the average life expectancy was 81.09 years. Compared to 2023, the life expectancy for women increased by only 0.01 percent, while no change was observed for men.
This is considered a long-term advantage for Japanese women. Men rank sixth in the world, trailing only countries like Sweden, Switzerland, and Norway.
According to the Ministry of Health, the number of deaths from cardiovascular diseases decreased over the past year. At the same time, more people in the country are dying from natural causes.
The increase in life expectancy slowed down due to deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic, but in 2023, these figures stabilized. Japan's leadership in life expectancy is gaining significant attention worldwide.
A healthy lifestyle, advancements in medicine, and efforts in disease prevention play a crucial role in achieving these results. The public views such annually updated records as a sign of positive change and new hope.
