Donald Trump's new 10-12 day deadline for resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has sparked extensive discussions in the international political arena. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev harshly criticized this demand, calling the American leader's approach an "ultimatum game." According to Medvedev, each new ultimatum undermines the essence of negotiations and complicates the situation further.
He particularly criticized Trump's reduction of the previously set 50-day deadline, expecting results within 10-12 days. Medvedev assessed this action as a threat, emphasizing that each new ultimatum is a step towards war.
According to him, this situation is more related to U.S. domestic politics than to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Medvedev also addressed Donald Trump, reminding him that Russia is neither Israel nor Iran, and it is necessary to consider its position in the international arena and historical experience.
At the same time, Trump announced that if negotiations do not yield results within the set deadline, a 100 percent tariff will be imposed on countries importing oil and gas from Russia. This could lead to new tensions in international economic relations.
Experts believe that Medvedev's response and Trump's ultimatums have created a new tension in U.S.-Russia relations. It remains uncertain how the situation in the region will develop and in which direction the negotiations will continue.
