Former US President Donald Trump described the situation in Gaza as real hunger. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
His statement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected claims of hunger. In an interview with journalists in Scotland, Trump emphasized how emaciated the children living in Gaza look, calling the situation true hunger.
Tom Fletcher, head of humanitarian affairs at the UN, referred to the situation in Gaza as a tragedy of the 21st century and stated that there is an urgent need for large-scale assistance. He positively assessed the 10-hour tactical pauses announced by Israel and the efforts to deliver aid by air, describing them as a drop in the ocean of assistance.
According to UN data, aid convoys have been looted by starving civilians on the road, putting the lives of drivers at risk. The Israeli government denies the existence of hunger, with Netanyahu calling these accusations slander.
They believe that the main obstacle to aid delivery is related to the actions of Hamas. The UN also stated that there is no concrete evidence that Hamas is systematically obstructing aid.
According to a report from the World Health Organization in July, 147 people, including 25 children, have died in Gaza due to food shortages. As a result of Trump's statements and international pressure, Israel agreed to deliver more aid in cooperation with the US, the European Union, and other major organizations.
Experts believe that a stable delivery system and the establishment of peace are necessary to improve the situation
