As a result of the airstrikes carried out by Russia on Ukraine on the night of July 29 and early morning, at least 25 people were killed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The largest blow was dealt to the Bilenke prison in the Zaporozhye region. In this attack, 16 inmates were killed, and more than 50 people were injured.
According to the Ministry of Justice, four bombs fell on the prison area, destroying the dining hall, administrative building, and quarantine area. 44 injured individuals were hospitalized.
The Ukrainian Commissioner for Human Rights assessed the targeting of the prison as a serious violation of international humanitarian law. In the Kharkiv region, a missile strike was carried out on people gathered to receive humanitarian aid, resulting in the death of five individuals.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a missile that hit a hospital claimed the lives of three people, including a 23-year-old pregnant woman. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky emphasized the need for strict sanctions to force Russia into peace.
He stated that these attacks are occurring at a time when peace could be established. At the same time, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had given Russia a deadline until August 8 to reach a peace agreement.
Otherwise, he warned that comprehensive economic sanctions could be imposed. Russia claims to have advanced deeper into Ukrainian territories after the attacks.
While Moscow has stated that it has captured the village of Malivka, Kyiv has denied these claims. The situation remains tense, and the international community is closely monitoring the situation.
