
Life expectancy in Turkey is increasing. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the "Life Tables" report for 2022–2024 by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the expected average lifespan for a newborn in the country is 78.1 years. This figure has increased compared to previous years.
The life expectancy for women is 80.7 years, while for men it is 75.5 years. Thus, women live on average 5.2 years longer than men.
The report also emphasizes the correlation between education level and life expectancy. Individuals aged 30 with higher education can expect to live about 5 years longer than those with secondary education.
The healthy life expectancy is on average 57.6 years. Interestingly, in this indicator, men (58.9 years) are slightly ahead of women (56.3 years).
Additionally, it is estimated that individuals who reach the age of 65 can expect to live another 18 years on average. Reforms in the healthcare system, improvements in the quality of medical services, and measures aimed at increasing physical activity are positively influencing the increase in life expectancy.
