New fees for labor migrants will be introduced in Russia
New regulations in the field of migration will be introduced in Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

President Vladimir Putin signed a law establishing new state fees for labor migrants starting from September 1, 2025. These changes aim to tighten the control over the residence and work of labor migrants in the country.

According to the law, new obligations will be introduced for foreign citizens wishing to reside temporarily or permanently in Russia. For example, a fee of 500 rubles will be charged for registration at the place of residence.

To extend the temporary residence period, a payment of 1000 rubles is required. Additionally, a state fee of 4200 rubles has been set for issuing or re-registering a patent for migrants.

If it is necessary to extend the validity of the work permit, another 4200 rubles must be paid. There is also a fee of 2100 rubles for obtaining a duplicate of the document or making changes to it.

The draft law was presented to the State Duma in July. According to official information, the amount of state fees has not changed since 2014, and the new law was adopted due to the increase in the flow of migrants and the need to strengthen control.

Officials emphasize that the new regulations will make the residence and work activities of foreigners in Russia more transparent and orderly, and will help strengthen the country's internal security. The new fees will require labor migrants and employers to formalize the processes of living and working in Russia.

The practical impact of these changes will be tested in the coming weeks. Analysts believe that the law is of significant importance for regulating the labor market in Russia and controlling migration.
