As part of an investigation conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), a search was carried out at the home of Rostislav Shurma, the former deputy of the head of President Volodymyr Zelensky's office. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by the prestigious German publication "Der Spiegel." It was noted that on July 15, German law enforcement agencies conducted the search at the residence of Shurma located in the city of Starnberg, one of the federal lands of Bavaria, based on a request from NABU.
The publication emphasized that this action took place during a very sensitive period for the political situation in Ukraine. Because a week later, Zelensky made a decision to limit the powers of the National Bureau for Combating Corruption and the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office.
Amid the ongoing war with Russia, there is currently no specific information on how 41-year-old Shurma moved to Bavaria. Earlier, the publication "Ukrainskaya pravda," citing sources, reported that Shurma, who was the deputy for economic issues to the head of the presidential office Andrey Yermak, was dismissed due to "conflicts of interest and pressure from U.S. officials."
Additionally, after information spread about companies belonging to Shurma's brother covering state funds through the "green tariff" mechanism, international partners decided to cease cooperation with him. The Ukrainian publication "NV" writes that Shurma's dismissal was formalized after discussions between President Zelensky and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in the spring of 2024.
According to official information, he was dismissed from his position on September 3, 2024
