According to a new draft law discussed by the deputies of the State Duma of Russia, education in state schools for children of migrant families living in the country can only be provided on a paid basis. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This proposal is supported by a number of officials and deputies. The draft law states that children of foreign families living in Russia will not be able to attend state schools for free from the 1st to the 11th grade, but will only be able to receive paid education.
Additionally, these children will only have the right to take an exam to confirm their level of Russian language proficiency three times. Deputy Yaroslav Nilov noted that this project had been reviewed before, but it had some shortcomings.
The updated version is currently being discussed among the factions and is expected to be presented to the State Duma again soon. If this draft law is adopted, there will be significant changes in the education system for the children of migrant families.
This will serve to introduce new rules in the education sector of the country.
