New information has emerged about the summit planned between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
CNN reported, citing two high-ranking sources in the White House, that the negotiations will take place at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage. Initially, the White House preferred not to host the Russian delegation on military property.
However, finding a safe and convenient alternative location for the meeting during the peak of Alaska's tourist season proved to be practically difficult. Options were considered among the cities of Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks, and as a result, only the Elmendorf-Richardson base in Anchorage was selected, which meets the presidents' requirements and security standards.
According to White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt, the main goal of the negotiations between Trump and Putin is to determine how to halt military actions in Ukraine. This summit is of strategic importance for the two leaders and, according to political analysts, it could create new opportunities for international agreements.
This summit, held at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base, is expected to impact not only the US and Russia but also global politics. Experts suggest that the outcomes of this meeting could have significant implications for regional and global security in the future.
