The important border crossing point between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan — “Tul” has been temporarily closed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to an official statement from the State Committee for National Security Border Service of Kyrgyzstan on August 13, the closure is due to damage to the supporting parts of the bridge connecting the “Otukchu” (Kyrgyzstan) and “Tul” (Uzbekistan) control checkpoints.
As a result of strong water flow and underground movements, the structure has been deformed and deemed unsafe for use. Currently, citizens and vehicles intending to cross the border are temporarily being redirected to the “Apkan” border checkpoint.
This checkpoint operates daily from 07:00 to 23:00 and is intended only for citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The “Apkan” border checkpoint is located in the village of Apkan, Botken district, Botken region of Kyrgyzstan.
Border service officials recommend travelers carefully check the latest information about roads and border posts before setting out on their journey. These measures are aimed at ensuring travel safety and minimizing inconveniences.
It is expected that after the bridge is repaired, the “Tul” checkpoint will resume its operations. Citizens are advised to stay informed about these changes and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
