Irgashev: Afghanistan is no longer a threat to peace

Uzbekistan's special representative for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, met with the governor of Balkh province, Muhammad Yusuf Vafo, in Mazar-i-Sharif, uz24.uz reported.

Irgashev emphasized that relations between Tashkent and Kabul are strengthening and stated that Afghanistan no longer poses a threat to regional peace. He also called on countries not to interfere in Afghanistan's internal affairs.


Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have agreed to hold a joint economic forum in May 2025. This event will serve to develop trade and transit through Balkh.
