Moscow accused Kyiv of undermining Trump's initiatives

The Russian Defense Ministry accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces on March 21 of blowing up the "Sudzha" gas measuring station in the Kursk region. According to Moscow's statement, this act was a provocation aimed at "discrediting" the peace initiatives of U.S. President Donald Trump.

This station has been under Ukrainian control since August 7, and it was transiting 40 million cubic meters of gas to Europe daily. According to Russia, this strike was aimed at undermining the peace efforts between the two countries regarding energy.

On the same day, Russia also announced the destruction of 43 Ukrainian drones. The most attacks were recorded in the Volgograd region, while the others were noted in the Kursk, Rostov, and Belgorod areas.

The Ukrainian General Staff denied these claims. They believe this is yet another "information attack," stating that Russia itself had previously struck the "Sudzha" station. They also emphasized that they would continue to support the peace initiative.

Trump and Putin spoke by phone on March 18 and reached an agreement to refrain from mutual attacks for 30 days. Zelensky also approved this initiative, but later the parties accused each other of violating the terms.
