North Korean leader Kim Chen In announced the necessity to accelerate the country's nuclear armament program. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This statement was made amid escalating military and political tensions with the United States and South Korea. On August 19, during a visit to the Navy destroyer, Kim Chen In emphasized the urgent need to rapidly expand the country's nuclear arsenal, develop new weapons, and upgrade existing ones.
According to him, under the conditions of increasing regional security tensions, North Korea is forced to make fundamental changes in military theory and practice. This is especially occurring against the backdrop of the "Ulchi Freedom Shield" military exercises conducted by the United States and South Korea.
Pyongyang considers these exercises an act of aggression and evaluates them as an open attempt to provoke war. Earlier, South Korea announced it would move part of its field exercises until September, but Pyongyang did not respond positively to this decision.
Additionally, North Korea is preparing to constitutionally reject relations with the South. Kim Chen In's sister, Kim Yo Chjon, called the South the most hostile state and criticized actions that increase tensions in the region.
Experts believe that Kim Chen In's decision will further complicate regional security and urge the international community to be vigilant. Pyongyang's desire to strengthen nuclear armament reduces the possibilities for dialogue between the North and the South.
Thus, the North Korean leader announced his firm decision to rapidly develop nuclear armament to ensure the country's security, further intensifying the regional political situation.
