Former US President Donald Trump, speaking about his attempts to mediate during the Russia–Ukraine war, highlighted his “achievements” in establishing peace. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At a recent meeting, he stated, “I ended six wars,” later increasing this number to seven. Trump portrays himself as a leader in peace-making and claims to be worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize.
His administration emphasizes that it mediated in conflicts between Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, Rwanda and Congo, Thailand and Cambodia, and Armenia and Azerbaijan. While some countries have expressed gratitude to Trump, some parties reject the US role in this process.
For example, the agreement between India and Pakistan was directly achieved through negotiations between the two countries. Although peace was established between Rwanda and Congo, fighting continues.
Leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan supported the agreement signed in Washington, but experts remain doubtful about achieving lasting peace. Additionally, Trump claimed to have mediated between Egypt and Ethiopia regarding the Nile River issue, but no final agreement was reached.
Regarding Serbia and Kosovo, he also emphasized that war was prevented, but experts note that there were actually no battles between these countries. Analysts believe that while Trump participated as a mediator in some conflicts to a certain extent, it is difficult to say that stable peace was established in all the “seven wars” he mentioned.
Therefore, debates about his achievements in peace-making continue.
