Heavy monsoon rains have once again caused a major disaster in Pakistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of the heavy rains, many villages were submerged, hundreds of people died, and thousands of homes were destroyed. The biggest problem was that people were not warned in advance, and rescuers were forced to work only with manual labor, lacking the necessary equipment.
In some areas, aid did not arrive on time, which led to the worsening of the disaster. Pakistan is considered one of the countries most affected by climate change.
Similar floods occurred in 2022 as well, resulting in the deaths of over 1,700 people. Experts emphasize that rainfall will intensify in the future and such disasters will increase.
However, the problem is not only related to nature. The country's budget is mainly spent on defense, while very little funding is allocated to combating climate change.
For this reason, international aid is also not sufficiently mobilized. Additionally, illegal constructions along the riverbanks continue.
Experts warn that if serious measures are not taken, such disasters will recur in the future. The Pakistani government and the international community must work together to solve this problem.
