US citizen accused of espionage in Germany
A US citizen, Martin D., has been seriously charged in Germany. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office announced that he is suspected of spying for Chinese interests. According to the official statement, Martin D.

acted as an agent for foreign intelligence services. He worked as a civilian contractor for the US Department of Defense from 2017 to 2023.

Starting in 2020, he served at a US military base located in Germany. According to investigators, in the summer of 2024, Martin D.

contacted Chinese state agencies several times and offered to provide secret information about US military personnel to Chinese intelligence. This situation is the basis for his accusation of serving a foreign intelligence service.

Martin D. was arrested on November 7, 2024, and is currently in custody.

So far, US and Chinese officials have not commented on the charges brought by Germany. Experts believe that this case may negatively affect relations between Germany and the US, as well as ties between Washington and Beijing.

For this reason, the incident is being widely discussed on the international stage.
