Due to the fact that COVID-19 infection rates in Ukraine have more than doubled in the past week, the country has reinstated the mandatory wearing of masks in medical institutions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This decision was made to control the spread of the disease and strengthen public health, and it holds great importance for community well-being. According to local media sources, mask-wearing has been made mandatory for all visitors and medical staff at the central city clinical hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Earlier, similar measures were introduced in hospitals in the Rivne and Odessa regions. These actions aim to reduce virus transmission and maintain a safe environment within healthcare facilities.
According to data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention dated August 25, 2025, COVID-19 cases in the country have more than doubled within a week. In Kyiv alone, 1,121 new cases were recorded.
These figures indicate a resurgence of the virus and highlight the need to strengthen precautionary measures within the healthcare system. Experts explain the current situation by seasonal activity and insufficient adherence to preventive measures by the population.
Therefore, reinforcing protective measures in medical institutions, particularly the implementation of mask-wearing protocols, is of urgent importance. The Ministry of Health strongly recommends the public to wear masks in public places and enclosed spaces, maintain social distancing at crowded events, practice handwashing and personal hygiene rules, and seek medical attention immediately if COVID-19 symptoms appear.
These measures are crucial to preventing further spread of the disease.
