Cyberattack on Collins Aerospace halted European airports
A cyberattack targeting Collins Aerospace caused major problems in European aviation. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to Reuters, technical malfunctions occurred at this corporation, which serves major airlines worldwide. The issues were mainly observed in electronic check-in and baggage drop systems.

London's Heathrow Airport officially announced that this situation could cause flight delays. Brussels and Berlin airports also reported being affected by the attack.

The incident at the airport in Belgium's capital occurred on Friday night, causing automated systems to stop working. Currently, passengers are being checked in manually.

The airport statement noted that the flight schedule is being seriously impacted, with an increasing number of delays and canceled flights. At present, at least ten flights have been canceled, and the remaining flights are delayed by approximately one hour.

Berlin airport's official website provided information about long queues and passengers' patience being tested. Technical services are working intensively to resolve the problems.

At the same time, Frankfurt Airport, a major German air hub, was reported to be unaffected by the attack. Passengers are dissatisfied with the situation.

Kim Raizen from Berlin said, "They only told us it was a technical malfunction, but no detailed information was provided." Siegfried Schwarz commented, "In today's technological era, it is unimaginable that there is no way to protect against such attacks."

Collins Aerospace's parent company RTX issued an official statement confirming that disruptions did indeed occur at some airports. According to them, so far the problem has only affected check-in and baggage drop processes.

The company is attempting to resolve the issue temporarily through manual procedures. Additionally, one of the major airlines, EasyJet, stated that its flights are operating as usual and that this incident has not yet affected flights.

This cyberattack in the European aviation sector has caused serious concern among experts. Such attacks pose not only technical but also significant security risks.
