The Baltic states are trying to convince the US not to stop military aid to them. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As emphasized by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, US decisions to reduce or stop military aid to the region create a worrying situation for the Baltic states. According to Tsahkna, they are working closely with the US Congress and explaining that every dollar allocated by the US to the Baltic states returns to the American economy.
Moreover, they, in turn, contribute up to twelve dollars for every dollar. In his opinion, US military aid to the Baltic states is a mutually beneficial agreement for both sides.
Completely stopping or reducing military aid would be against US national interests and could lead to economic and strategic losses. Additionally, Tsahkna highlighted the important role of cooperation between the US and the Baltic states in ensuring regional security.
US military aid and strategic support strengthen the defense of the countries in the region and lay the foundation for economic development. The Baltic states, including Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, strive to further strengthen cooperation with the US to enhance regional security and protect NATO’s eastern borders.
This plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability and security of the region.
