Cardiovascular diseases rank first among the most common causes of death worldwide. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A new international report based on data from 204 countries from 1990 to 2023 reached this conclusion. According to the report, heart and blood vessel diseases cause one in every three deaths.
While 13.1 million people died from these diseases in 1990, this number reached 19.2 million in 2023. It was also noted that in many regions, the death rate among men is higher than that of women.
Cardiovascular diseases are also a major factor in the loss of healthy life years due to premature death or disability. This situation further emphasizes the severity of these diseases.
Experts emphasize that up to 80 percent of the risk factors leading to cardiovascular diseases can be prevented. Among these factors, obesity, high blood pressure, increased blood sugar, and high cholesterol levels play an important role.
Therefore, healthy eating, regular physical activity, adopting a healthy lifestyle, and regularly undergoing medical supervision are of great importance in preventing cardiovascular diseases. These measures serve to improve human health and increase life expectancy.
