The UK government plans to implement a large construction program to address the housing shortage in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to official data, 12 new towns will be established, each planned to have over 300,000 residential buildings. This project is especially important for young people, particularly citizens under 40 who have not yet had the opportunity to buy a home.
Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party and current Prime Minister, emphasized that this initiative will play a major role in solving the population's housing problem. According to the Daily Mail, the first three towns are planned to be built in Bedfordshire, Leeds, and the North London areas.
Construction work is expected to begin before the upcoming elections. The Labour Party promised in its election manifesto to build 1.5 million new homes during the current parliamentary term.
Thus, the establishment of new towns is considered one of the biggest changes in the country's housing policy. This project will serve to meet the population's housing needs and help strengthen social stability.
The government aims to effectively solve the housing problem through this program.
