In Toyoake city, Japan, starting from October 1, 2023, residents are allowed to use mobile phones, tablets, gaming devices, and computers for up to two hours per day. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This restriction was introduced due to the increase in dependency on mobile devices among school students. The city mayor, Masafumi Kuoki, emphasized that this decision was made to reduce young people's dependence on technology and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The city official stated that the new restriction holds symbolic significance. There are no plans to monitor compliance or impose fines.
The main goal is to effectively manage the time residents spend using technology and to prevent excessive usage. Additionally, recommendations are being provided to the population on how to use technology in a healthy manner and properly allocate their daily time.
This measure aims to reduce technology dependence among youth while improving their mental and physical health. Toyoake city's experience is an important social initiative that can be studied in other regions as well.
