The British Financial Times newspaper reported on October 2, citing sources. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It has been revealed that Russia has modernized its missile systems, creating a more effective capability to enter Ukrainian territories under the control of the American Patriot air defense systems. These changes have been clearly demonstrated in the devastating strikes Russia has carried out in recent months on Ukrainian drone manufacturing plants.
During the summer, at least four drone manufacturing plants in Kyiv and its surroundings suffered serious damage. On August 28, an attack was carried out on the Turkish Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturing company.
According to two officials interviewed by the Financial Times, offices of two other companies involved in producing missile drones were also within the attack zone and were damaged after bypassing the Patriot systems. This incident also affected offices located near European Union delegations and the British Council.
According to the publication's sources, Russia has upgraded the Iskander-M mobile missile system, which can fly up to 500 kilometers, and the Kinjal aeroballistic missiles, which have an effective range of up to 480 kilometers. Currently, after traveling along a normal trajectory, these missiles suddenly change direction and perform steep dives or maneuvers in multiple directions to avoid being intercepted by Patriot air defense systems.
One of the Financial Times sources, a former Ukrainian official, described Russia's actions as a "turning point in favor of Russia." He also emphasized that delays in the delivery of Patriot systems by the United States have influenced this process.
Thus, Russia's modernized missiles have increased strategic strike capabilities within Ukrainian territory and created a new threat against NATO's modern defense systems. This is a serious signal for global politicians and military experts from the perspective of international security.
