An Uzbek builder died in Arkhangelsk
A 22-year-old Uzbek man working in construction in the city of Arkhangelsk, Russia, died as a result of an accident. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Saint Petersburg announced this. According to the information, the incident occurred on October 1, 2025.

N.S., born in 2003 in Surxondaryo region, fell from the fifth floor of a building under construction in the "Koritsa" residential complex.

As a result, he sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. The Consulate General stated that an official note was sent to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ representative office in the Arkhangelsk region.

Legal measures are currently being taken by the relevant authorities regarding the incident. The investigation department of the Solombal district of Arkhangelsk city initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — related to violation of safety regulations during construction and other work processes.

The investigation is actively ongoing. The Consulate General in Saint Petersburg reported that it has taken control of the situation and that necessary consular assistance is being provided to the deceased’s relatives.

A similar incident was previously recorded. It was reported that a 23-year-old Uzbek citizen died due to an accident at the construction site of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the court department in Saint Petersburg.

Such events once again highlight how urgent the issue of labor migrants’ safety is. Protecting the lives and health of workers abroad, as well as ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations by employers and responsible organizations, is an important task.
