A large military parade was held in North Korea to mark the 80th anniversary of the Korean Workers' Party. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At this ceremonial event, for the first time, a new intercontinental ballistic missile — the Hwasong-20 — was presented to the public, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). This missile is regarded as a new stage in North Korea's military capabilities.
According to information, in September, the country's leader Kim Jong Un announced the creation of a "secret weapon." It is speculated that this weapon could be the Hwasong-20 or its new modification.
At the parade, the Hwasong-20 was showcased after the hypersonic medium-range missiles. According to KCNA, this missile was developed based on new technologies and has the capability to carry multiple warheads.
Additionally, during the parade, new generation offensive weapon systems, hypersonic missiles, and models of nuclear submarines were also displayed. This is considered an important step by the Kim Jong Un regime to demonstrate the country's advanced capabilities in the defense sector.
Analysts believe that the public presentation of the Hwasong-20 indicates North Korea's intention to expand its military program despite international pressure. They suggest that this move could be a serious political signal to Washington and Seoul.
The North Korean side emphasizes that these weapons were created to ensure the country's independence and security. However, the international community is concerned that such displays may increase tensions in the region.
Thus, by showcasing its military strength, Pyongyang once again demonstrated its position in the region, which could likely affect the political balance in the area.
