The issue of relocating the country's capital has once again become a pressing topic in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchibek Tashiev, did not reject this idea and stated that there is a possibility that Manas city will become the state center in the future. According to Tashiev, in 2026 Manas city is planned to receive the status of the third city of republican significance.
He emphasized that this decision is strategically correct and important for the country's future development. Tashiev also noted that being a capital is not just a title but a great responsibility.
He stressed that the city and its population must be prepared for this task economically, infrastructurally, and spiritually. In recent months, construction and infrastructure works in Manas have been progressing rapidly.
New administrative buildings, roads, and social facilities are being established. It is worth noting that the name of Jalal-Abad city was officially changed to Manas on September 17.
This change was accepted as the beginning of a new era in the country. According to experts, if Manas city receives the capital status, it could lead to the reshaping of Kyrgyzstan's economic and political center.
For this reason, the country's leadership and the public are seriously considering this issue.
