Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has signed a new decree allowing foreigners of Turkish origin to work in Turkey. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The decree was officially announced on October 10 and created new opportunities for representatives of the Turkish diaspora abroad. According to the new regulation, individuals of Turkish origin who hold citizenship of other countries will have the right to work in Turkey without complicated bureaucratic procedures.
They can engage in entrepreneurship or professional activities in both the public and private sectors. However, working in the military service and security agencies is prohibited for them.
The decree also emphasizes that these individuals must register with professional associations, but they are not required to obtain Turkish citizenship. The new law does not grant political rights, including participation in elections or candidacy.
Officials believe this decision aims to attract specialists of Turkish descent to the Turkish economy and strengthen spiritual cooperation. Experts note that the decree creates new opportunities for the Turkish diaspora abroad and will help partially address the shortage of qualified personnel in the Turkish labor market.
Thus, the new initiative demonstrates Turkey's open policy towards ethnic Turks globally and its aspiration to involve them in the country's development.
