A fire broke out at a garment manufacturing factory located in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At least sixteen people died as a result of the incident. The fire started in the afternoon in a four-story building in the Mirpur district and was extinguished after three hours.
The fire spread and continued until late night in a nearby chemical warehouse. It was reported that plastic and hydrogen peroxide were stored in this warehouse.
These substances caused the fire to intensify and led to the release of harmful gases into the air. Officials stated that most of the deceased died from inhaling the toxic gases.
It has not yet been determined whether the warehouse was operating legally or not. In recent years, the number of fires in Bangladesh has been increasing.
This situation is attributed to non-compliance with safety regulations. It is necessary to strengthen safety measures to prevent fires.
This incident once again highlights the need to pay serious attention to safety issues in the country's industrial enterprises.
